  • Puffin: Hi there fleetingthoughts! I've been meaning to drop you a message, I really enjoyed Paula's app and her artwork is beautiful. :) I definitely recommend joining the Discord server, if it's something that appeals to you. There are quite a few plotting channels, etc. there that can help with getting some threads started.

  • fleetingthoughts: Hello! I hope I'm not being too nosy if I ask this, but do you guys usually discuss more on your discord server? Because I am willing to get more involved into this website and I don't really know how to (except for commenting on plotters lol), so I thought I could join your discord server as well if that's alright with you all :)

It would be remiss of me to not offer Saul, here! <3 No pressure, of course, but thought I'd bring it up in case it was useful/interesting!

Saul and Quirin

The biggest question, of course, would be whether these two would be at odds or in harmony. I guess that would depend how much they truly know of the other. I mostly present Saul in case he is useful for Plot Reasons, haha. Of course we can't ignore that he has immense goals of his own and is at the next stage of his plan, so someone useful like Quirin would likely be on his radar as an option. That said, while Saul isn't exactly out to reform the MPs he does dislike chaos or anything else that is a hindrance to his goals, so if Quirin were out causing 'mischief' that might rub him the wrong way. There's also something to be said for two people who are putting on 'acts' in their own way.

As a small aside, why do I imagine Quirin being the type to know Saul is very allergic to bee/wasp stings and take advantage of that? haha

That would work well! And it being in Trost too, perfect. Would you like me to set up a starter? ^^

If Quirin is on the Wall perhaps, and Simon doesn't recognise him as a soldier usually there?
Yeah, that'd be good! Simon's good at remembering faces, and I'm sure he'd know the Garrison pretty well, so he'd be able to pick out Quirin pretty quickly. It could be easily dismissed as him being a transfer or a new recruit or something, Simon's not the suspicious type so he'd accept anything pretty quickly.

When he first joins the Garrison, he's stationed in Trost!

Ooh, yes! That would be great - given their differences in personality it'd be interesting to see how they interact. If Quirin is on the Wall perhaps, and Simon doesn't recognise him as a soldier usually there? I'm sure it wouldn't take long for Quirin to show any kind of disdain for the people of Wall Rose... Which district is Simon stationed in? ^^

Oh man, I'm going to offer up Simon (although I feel I'm offering him as a sacrificial lamb, haha)--the two are polar opposites, so any interaction would be interesting. I like the Garrison plot; Simon used to work on wall maintenance as a fresh Garrison recruit, and he probably spent some time doing general patrols as well. The "pig pen" idea could also be incorporated. Both Simon and Quirin are from Wall Sina districts, but Simon's opinions of Rose inhabitants are considerably more benevolent.

+ inquisitive + precise - aloof - deceptive

Quirin defines friends as 'those who are of use'. He struggles to find emotional attachments to others, but he is very good at exploiting emotional attachments in others. People who consider him a friend are likely those who owe him multiple favours, having been somehow helped by him in advice or running errands for them. Those he keeps close are people with similar interests and attitudes. He protects the corrupt within the Military Police, encouraging them not to stop, but to be more subtle.

Those who seek to rid the Military Police and Wall Sina of corruption are automatically enemies to him, though he appears pleasant enough when speaking to them. His own corruption is unknown, a close-kept secret, and he has no qualms in forcibly removing those who suspect him or know something... in taking lives, if need be.

Though he holds little interest in settling, flirting is not out of the gate, commonly used to get his way. This extends to playing into a relationship if he must, claiming love for another until thier usefulness fades and he brushes them off. He finds himself attracted to little but the potential use of others.

- Patrol 'Pals'. Stuck on patrol, his companion(s) attempt to make friendly, though his bad mood makes this a difficult task.
- Corrupt Cats. Quirin lends a hand with somebody else's minor display of corruption, though suggests he wants something in return.
- Boggart Beware. While disguised, Quirin has some fun encouraging a thief/mischief maker before backstabbing them.
- Pig Pen. Forced into working in Wall Rose, Quirin can't quite hold back his disdain for the people.
- Garrison Grunt. For research purposes, he tries his hand at pretending to be part of the Garrison in Wall Rose, and finds some obstacles in persuading others.
- Suspect Spectator. A handmaid raises suspicions when lurking too close to the Wall.
